The labor party announced today it would contribute $3 Million to the restoration of the Gawler River Junction and creation of walking and cycling trails from the junction to Clonlea Park and Dead Man’s Pass if it wins office! Conservation outcomes would include restoration of habitat and river access to allow threatened fish species to populate the North and South Para rivers upstream from the junction. The project would be delivered in partnership with Gawler Council, SA Government, Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Authority, the Kaurna people and local community groups. Great to see money being put up to make the ‘vision’ a reality!
