Native grassland walk
The native grassland walk along parts of the Roseworthy Freeling rail line with Ann Prescott, author and native vegetation advisor, attracted about 30 participants. Ann’s explanations of the structure of grasslands, ways of managing weeds and recognition of various plant species kept everyone interested for almost 3 hours. Since then we have organised to collect specimens for the State Herbarium and the number of species identified in the corridor has risen to about 70. We are now looking at a grant to get a management plan and also assisting notification of adjoining farmers about the significant vegetation via rail co Genesee Wyoming.
