GEHA plants working bee on a morning over Easter 9/9.30 – 11/11.30 am at 42 Finniss St. Potting up small seedling native plants. Date will depend on weather. Contact Adrian 8522 4363 if interested and date will be sorted out.

2020 ideas. Gawler is likely to be the venue for a Wakefield 2020 forum on Sunday 6 April presumably an afternoon time. Proposed by new Wakefield MHR Nick Champion and agreed by Gawler Council on Tuesday. Likely to involve other sponsors. If interested contact Mr Champion’s office on 8284 2422.

Easter Weekend Field Naturalists Society are conducting a survey of reptiles, birds and other animals at Bundey Station which is north of Robertstown towards the Burra Morgan Road. Belinda Copland is involved so you can get some details from Belinda on 0412 212 849 and if attending you need to contact Graham Medlin or Peter Matejcic know of your intention to participate immediately/as soon as possible. Easter Weekend - Pygmy bluetongue lizards.

The Clare Burra people who look after these things have some field day work in Burra and Clare areas on the 4 days over Easter. A couple of us at least are planning on going up for part of a day but not sure which one yet. Any interest contact Adrian or Sue 8522 4363 or return email. Transport available on one day.

Native fish. Report on recovery of native fish in SA is at www.deh.sa.gov.au/biodiversity/pdfs/draft_fresh_fishsa.pdf . 4 or 5 species which are/should be in Gawler River catchment are featured. GEHA submission – comments welcome. Item to finalise at GEHA meeting.

Weir – The weir is now gone, and doesn’t the river look wonderful!

Council Environment Officer has been appointed – more details soon.

Council waste bins charges has been a major controversy. Comments on this can be made a scomment on Council’s draft rating policy 08/09 which is out for public comment for another week or so and includes waste bin system. On Council web site under Council/Public Consultation.

Tracks in the Sand – a new exhibition by Marree Arabunna & visiting artists This amazing exhibition is on at the SA Museum now until 20 April.
